Marianna Pogosyan

Marianna Pogosyan received her BA in International Studies from the International Christian University in Japan, and her MSc in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. To pursue her interest in cultural psychology, she returned to Japan for her PhD and wrote her doctoral dissertation at the department of Public Administration at ICU, where she examined cross-cultural differences in the perception and experience of emotions among Japanese, Russians and Americans. Her interdisciplinary research merged the fields of cross-cultural psychology and international marketing and revealed affective differences across cultures that impact consumer decisions.

Currently, Marianna is a consultant for international executives in Zurich and a facilitator for their psychological transitions stemming from acculturation.
